Good to Know

✅ Who can join?

All single-parent families are welcome – whether you’re:

  • divorced or separated
  • widowed
  • parenting alone by choice or by circumstance
  • sharing custody or co-parenting

You don’t have to be a Yksin vanhempana ry member or speak Finnish. Many of our services are multilingual, and our team is patient and friendly.

✅ Is everything free-of-charge?

Most services are free, including:

  • Family Cafés
  • Peer support groups
  • KidCare (Tenavatupa)
  • Grandmas & Male Buddies for kids programs

Some events and camps have a small fee, but discounts and free spots are available for low-income families.

✅ Do I have to commit long-term?

No. You can:

  • come once, or come every week
  • join one event only, or become a member
  • just observe quietly, or jump in and help

Your level of involvement is always your choice.

✅ Can I join as a refugee, student, asylum seeker, or migrant?

Yes. We welcome all single-parent families – regardless of your background or legal status. You matter. You belong here.
