Peer volunteering

Are you looking for something meaningful to do and a community to belong to? Become a peer volunteer!

Peer volunteers are ordinary single parents who help make our shared activities happen. At Single Parents’ Association they organise a wide range of peer activities, including family cafés, peer support groups, trips and events. What would you like to organize for families? We’re open to suggestions.

  • Peer volunteers usually work in pairs or as part of a team.
  • Peer volunteers receive help and support from the Peer Support Coordinator.
  • Volunteering can be regular (approx. 3–5 hours per month) or a one-off commitment.

Benefits – as a peer volunteer, you can

  • bring meaningful activities into your everyday life.
  • make use of your own strengths.
  • help provide enjoyable activities for other single-parent families.
  • become part of the association’s peer volunteer community.
  • take part in training and peer support meetings for volunteers 2–3 times a year.
  • enjoy recreational activities for peer volunteers at the end of both the spring and autumn seasons.

In the words of our peer volunteers:

“A way to do good and feel good yourself.”

“Empowering and uplifting.”

“An important part of my life.”
