All single-parent families are welcome – whether you’re:
- divorced or separated
- widowed
- parenting alone by choice or by circumstance
- sharing custody or co-parenting
You don’t have to be a Yksin vanhempana ry member or speak Finnish. Many of our services are multilingual, and our team is patient and friendly.
✅ Is everything free-of-charge?
Most services are free, including:
- Family Cafés
- Peer support groups
- KidCare (Tenavatupa)
- Grandmas & Male Buddies for kids programs
Some events and camps have a small fee, but discounts and free spots are available for low-income families.
✅ Do I have to commit long-term?
No. You can:
- come once, or come every week
- join one event only, or become a member
- just observe quietly, or jump in and help
Your level of involvement is always your choice.

Yes. We welcome all single-parent families – regardless of your background or legal status. You matter. You belong here.
